Charutar Vidya Mandal is a unique Educational
Trust which offers a variety of courses right from K.G. to P.G.
Inspired by Sardar Patel’s call to work for the down-trodden and dispossessed
Bhaikaka decided to create a township
of Education, for he saw
education as the most potent instrument of Socio-economic revolution.
He took along with him Shree Bhikhabhai Saheb and convinced the villagers of
Bakrol, Karamsad and Anand to donate their land and the wonder
township
of Vallabh Vidyangar came into
existence. The first educational institution to come into existence was
V.P. Arts &
Science College.
Then began the series of distinguished educational institutions that offer
unique courses in different disciplines. The first Chairman of Charutar
Vidya Mandal was Shree Bhaikaka followed by a retired Civil servant of great
repute, Shree H.M.Patel. After the sad demise of Shree H.M.Patel,
Dr.C.L.Patel joined Charutar Vidya Mandal as the Chairman. He has not only
added more educational institutions, but also created a well-planned New Vallabh Vidyangar- a
Satellite
Township
nearly three kilometers from here.
In
recognition of his outstanding service to the society Anand Round Town Club
honoured him with Charotar Ratna Award, Anupam mission with Shalin
Manav Ratna Award, Sardar Patel University conferred upon him a Doctor
of Letters, Anand Agriculture University honoured him with Doctor of
Literature Degree, Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award by New Delhi's
Global Economic Council and Rastriya Ratna Award for the year 2006 for
his exemplary commitment in the field of education.
